BBB in the News -- Stuffed House

When a merchant "stuffs" furniture or other goods into a house to sell as if the items are being sold by an individual, that's a "stuffed house". The seller may use a sympathy pitch -- claiming to going through a divorce or moving on short notice, for example -- and may advertise on Cragslist or in other classified ads. Jeannette Kopko, spokesperson for the BBB in Dallas, says these sales are hard to identify.
