When a merchant "stuffs" furniture or other goods into a house as if the items are being sold by an individual, that's a "stuffed house". The seller may use a sympathy pitch -- claiming to be going through a divorce or moving on short notice, for example -- to explain the supposed bargain prices. The seller may advertise as if they are an individual on Cragslist or in other classified ads. Jeannette Kopko, spokesperson for the BBB in Dallas, says "stuffed houses" can be hard to identify.
