“We’re proud to have our marketing, branding, and outreach efforts recognized as effective messages to consumers and businesses,” said Jay Newman, President and CEO of the BBB serving Dallas and Northeast Texas. “These projects highlight the meaning and importance of trust, and show that BBB is working to help consumers find businesses to trust.”
The BBB in Dallas was recognized with these awards:

Outstanding Marketing/Branding – To raise awareness of BBB’s mission to work for trust in the marketplace, BBB in Dallas presented the first-ever BBB Student Video Contest. Students at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas produced videos on the theme of “Start With Trust”, posted the videos to the BBB Dallas YouTube channel, and promoted views through social media. Visits to the BBB Dallas Facebook page jumped and fans doubled, with the most popular post about the videos garnering nearly 5,000 views. Outstanding Outreach to Consumers and Businesses – To educate consumers and businesses about BBB and the high standards to which BBB Accredited Businesses must meet and adhere, BBB conducted a multi-media campaign including billboards around the city and advertising in D Magazine and D CEO Magazine. The billboards featured the BBB Accredited Business Seal as "The Sign of Good Business" showing that an Accredited Business is screened, approved and monitored. The magazine ads showcase the BBB mission to promote trust in the marketplace. In the first 6 months of 2012, inquiries to check out businesses increased by 27% over the same period the previous year. Submitted by Herb Pratt, Senior Vice President of Marketing / Accreditation, and Jeremiah McClure, Inside Performance and Development Manager.
